CLIENT: Sanders-Pace Architecture
PROJECT: Cape Russell Retreat
Sanders Pace Architecture was commissioned to design and coordinate construction of this 176 square foot lakeside pavilion with integrated water reclamation and photovoltaic technology for weekend use.
In keeping with the "green" theme, we wanted to capture the structure in its natural state. Besides, access to the project was over a half mile by foot and we had only 600 watts of power available on site, so my customary approach to night photography wasn't a consideration. Our solution was to light the scene primarily with existing light and LED's that I was able to stuff in one of my camera cases. I believe the results demonstrate that the simple approach was also the best approach.
